5th Generation of KOKEN volunteers – “Create Your Future” – European Voluntary Service (EVS)- Τhe END

“Create Your Future“ was a European Voluntary Service project aiming to improve the personal and professional skills of young people.
The project took place in Nicosia (Cyprus) from 03/04/2018 until 02/10/2018 by the Cyprus Youth Clubs Organization – KOKEN.

The goal of this project was to give young people the chance to be involved with volunteerism and active citizenship. They had the opportunity to offer their knowledge and experience and at the same time they improved their personal and professional skills.

OENEF (Greece)

Stefania Zygomani from Greece, Leon Raithel and Mai Nguyen from Germany were the 3 EVS volunteers we hosted in this project. You can find more about who they are on their personal blog “Create Your Future“.

Each one of them had their own tasks while at the same time they would cooperate in order to fulfill some other group tasks they had to do.

For example, Mai filmed a short video called “A Guide to Limassol“ featuring another EVS volunteer from KOKEN – Carmine Antonio Campanelli, which can be found on our YouTube channel. Furthermore she contributed to Leons personal project with several articles such as “A Food Journal“. Leon has created a written guide to various things Cyprus has to offer and should not be missed by the next volunteers. He also assisted Mai with her video project and tried to keep the social media channels up to date. Otherwise he always helped with the things that had to be done in the office. Stefania was responsible for the annual report of KOKEN’s events.

Also, they participated in the on-arrival-training and midterm-evaluation organised by the National Agency of Cyprus.

Symeon Symeou, a local volunteer, was also an integral part of this project since he was their mentor. Symeon, would help the EVS volunteers on whatever they needed and he would also take them to various places to get to know Cyprus and explore their new home.
